It was one fine day when I encountered an abnormality in my health, post everyone’s advice I went for Medical Check. Getting Covid-19 testing is not as easy as last year. I went first at a Government District Hospital in my town for an RT -PCR Test, but unfortunately taking an RT-PCR Test done at a government hospital was more like getting a Telephone Connection during the 90s, you need to have a strong Political Contact with a prior recommendation of a Government Medical Practioner & after that you need to stand in queue and shout for some hours to get your turn.
Then, I decided to follow the alternate route, went to a private medical college, though the charges were disproportionately higher (Private Hospitals in India never misses any economic opportunity ), but at last, you get a mental satisfaction that you would get a report on time.
Finally, after two days of wait, I received a message that says that I have been tested Positive for Covid-19. The key takeaway from the entire process was India’s growing Digital Footprints, all the Covid-19 Tests are now tagged with Aadhar Card Number and Mobile Number and subsequently, reports are sent to the patient mobile number from a centralized government number followed by a call back with a pre-recorded messages for the Covid-19 tips and safety precautions. This perfectly gives the correct pictures of covid-19 count every day that we see on the Daily Covid-19 tracker every day on the Health Ministry Website. The smooth tracking of the count is largely attributed to the Aadhar Implementation success story in India. I Hope India would be replicating the same practice for some other diseases too in the future.
Post the report, I had consulted with a local medical practitioner in the town, as usual, the place was crowded getting an appointment even with a private doctor required some contacts and moreover, the doctor had little time to spent with the patient owing to the large waitlist of patients.
I followed all the medicine and got some medical equipment viz. electronic thermometer, oximeter, vaporizer, these instruments have now become a common norm, almost every household owns it. This has been largely possible because of India Inc’s dedicated production set of such equipment to meet the demand in such a short period. This has also given rise to local trades and boosted the local economy. Infected, this year there is a drastic shift, in 2020 we use to see a large number of PPE Equipment getting sold via a different channel, surely there is huge diversification in India’s medical production line.
In the later period of time, during my covid -19 time, I could not able to travel to a local doctor for a consultant, I had consulted one doctor based out in Hyderabad while I was doing a Home Quarantine in Bihar, thanks to Practo -Online Doctor Consultation.
